Profitec Go — German Single-Boiler Espresso Machine

The Profitec Go packs serious prosumer engineering into one of the narrowest footprints in home espresso. Built in Germany around a single boiler with a fast-warming ring brew group, it delivers the temperature precision and mechanical control of machines costing far more — in a chassis just over eight inches wide and offered in five bold finishes.

Where E61 single-boilers take their time to heat, the Go's ring brew group and Fast Heat-Up mode get you brew-ready in roughly five to seven minutes from cold. A true PID lets you set brew and steam temperature to the degree and doubles as a shot timer on the bright OLED display, while an externally accessible expansion valve (OPV) under the cup tray lets you dial brew pressure without opening the machine. It's a compact tool built for clean, repeatable espresso rather than a starter appliance.

Why the Profitec Go

  • Ring brew group, fast heat-up — a compact saturated ring group (not a heavy E61) reaches brewing temperature in ~5–7 minutes, far quicker than traditional single-boilers.
  • True PID, set to the degree — independently set brew and steam temperatures; the PID display also counts your extraction time as a built-in shot timer.
  • Commercial 58mm group — chrome-plated brass, industry-standard 58mm portafilter fits an 18g dose and works with virtually all prosumer baskets, tampers, and puck tools.
  • Adjustable brew pressure — an externally accessible OPV under the cup tray lets you set brew pressure (around 8.5–12 bar, factory 9) without disassembly, with a front gauge to monitor it.
  • Energy-smart & low-maintenance — programmable on/off times, ECO standby, cleaning reminders, a three-way solenoid valve, and backflush capability keep it efficient and easy to live with.
  • Versatile steaming — an anti-burn multidirectional steam wand plus a hot-water function (great for Americanos) handles milk drinks; brew-to-steam switching takes around 60–90 seconds.

About This Machine

Does the Profitec Go use an E61 group head?
No. The Go uses a compact ring brew group rather than a traditional E61. The practical benefit is much faster heat-up — roughly 5–7 minutes from cold with Fast Heat-Up mode, versus the longer warm-up of E61 single-boilers — while still delivering thermally stable, repeatable extraction through the commercial 58mm group.
Can the Profitec Go brew and steam at the same time?
No — it's a single-boiler dual-use machine, so you switch between brewing and steaming. The good news is the switch is quick, typically around 60–90 seconds, which is fine for making one or two milk drinks. If you regularly make back-to-back milk drinks for a household, a heat-exchanger or dual-boiler machine would suit you better.
Can I adjust the brew pressure on the Profitec Go?
Yes. The Go has an externally accessible over-pressure valve (OPV) under the cup tray, so you can set brew pressure without opening the machine — typically anywhere from about 8.5 to 12 bar, with a factory setting of 9 bar. A front pump-pressure gauge lets you monitor it, and the PID adds degree-level temperature control and a built-in shot timer.
What's included, and where is the Go made?
The Profitec Go is made in Germany and ships with a bottomless portafilter and silicone attachments, a blind filter, a coffee tamper, two cleaning brushes, a water filter cartridge, and a carbonate hardness test strip, plus the user manual. It comes pre-fitted with the Aroma-C in-tank water filter adapter to help protect against limescale.
